About
Born in 1947, I began making sails in Detroit—self taught during high school,
working in a second floor hall that had once been a blind pig making sails for a small clientele.
I moved to western Colorado in 1971 and later made tipis and a few sails in Austin in a space above what is now The Yarrow Tap Room.
I began making pots in 1974—first in Cedaredge, then a one year residency in Crested Butte, then Aspen,
and later in a small pot shop in El Jebel.
The micro‑computer revolution carried me into an entirely different world. I spent many years developing software,
making pots only occasionally until the 1990s.
In 2017, I returned to Cedaredge, where my practice continues to evolve.
